Scores of business leaders and entrepreneurs have been featured on Spotlight On since 2020. including industry veterans from the dawn of the rock era and the latest digital innovators and company founders. We have talked to concert promoters, artist managers, ticket brokers, and venue owners. We've had on app creators, instrument inventors, financial wizards and industry analysts. We have even talked with several artists who made the move to the business side or keep active as both creators and business people. Together, these guests have shared hundreds of years worth of business expertise and experience.
In an effort to bring even more insight and know-how to creative people interested in understanding how the business world around them works, we have launched our Business of Culture Livestream Series. This live event series features Spotlight On Host Lawrence Peryer in discussion with a rotating panel of those making their living on the business side of art and culture. We are assembling experts who will help explain the trends, identify pitfalls, and offer advice to creative individuals. In addition to the conversation, audience members submit questions for real-time Q&A.
The Business of Culture Livestreams will take place on business days, at times that accommodate attendees from tall time zones in North America. Here's how it works:
We will
- Broadcast the event live on Zoom
- Simulcast the event and/or archive it on The Tonearm’s YouTube channel
- Include a blurb about each panelist, with one link for each of them, on all promotion and event registration pages
- Announce 14 – 21 days before the event
- Promote the live event on all of our channels multiple times: the podcast, our email list, socials, etc
- Continue to promote the livestream archive after the event
Panelists will
- Promote the event via their channels multiple times as well as the livestream archive on YouTube post-event
- Be prepared to speak to the issues, trends and challenges in their business and how those relate to artists and creative individuals - and offer practical insight and advice
- Participate in one pre-livestream prep call
