Dozens of writers have been featured on our podcast and website since 2020, including those who have joined us to discuss biographies of important figures in music, chroniclers of scenes and movements, cultural histories, cutting-edge ideas, and more.
To build on that work, we have launched our Virtual Book Tour Livestream Series. This live event series features Spotlight On Host Lawrence Peryer in discussion with a different author each month. In addition to the conversation, audience members submit questions for real-time Q&A.
The Virtual Book Tour Livestreams take place once each month, on either the first Tuesday or the third Saturday, at a time that accommodates attendees from the Pacific Time Zone through the UK and Western Europe. Here's how it works:
We will
- Broadcast the event live on Zoom
- Simulcast the event and archive it on The Tonearm’s YouTube channel
- Include a call to action and a link to buy the book on all promotion and event registration pages
- Announce 14 – 21 days before the event
- Promote the live event on all of our channels multiple times: the podcast, our email list, socials, etc
- Continue to promote the livestream archive after the event
We ask
- For a PRINT copy of the book for Lawrence 30 days before the event date (we like to wait to schedule until he has the book in hand)
- The author and publisher promote the event via their channels multiple times as well as the livestream archive on YouTube post-event
- The author to select and be prepared to read one or more brief passage(s) from their book
- Optional: the right to print an excerpt from the book as an article on The Tonearm (example)
- Optional: for the author or publisher to fulfill a copy of the book (signed or not) as a giveaway. Everyone from the US who registers for the event is entered into the drawing (we administer the enter-to-win)
